Standard Safety Features on the Base Trim
This is the fourth-generation that the Mazda 3 is receiving some small changes and its participation on the market the second time. Now that the series has been released as the 2020 version, Mazda is has boosted up its lineup by enabling its in-house i-Activsense driver-assist features on all sedan models that were previously seen as standard only on the higher trim levels of the sedan variety and on all hatchback models.
The current year 2020 Mazda 3 lineup now secures even the base sedan models with safety features like automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning and lane-keep assist.
Powertrain Configuration for the Base Model

It is a 2.5-liter inline-four engine that is ideally mated either a six-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission, among which the latter is offered only on the Premium hatchback trim. The engine power is relayed either to the front wheels, which is the standard configuration while enabling the all-wheel drive is offered only as an upgrading option. Though rumors are spreading that Mazda is going to introduce its own compression-ignition-capable Skyactiv-X engine late this year for the U.S market, the brand hasn’t announced anything on the same so far.
